News: After his free agent visit with the Saints on Wednesday, Shaun Alexander left without a contract, according to the Times-Picayune. Speculation is that the Saints probably offered Alexander the league minimum, but that was not enough to land him.Who Dat Say: Like we said before, let Alexander test out the free agent market. Good luck finding a better contract, big guy. We’ll be waiting for you to come crawling back when you realize that nobody is going to give you a big contract, and this is the best shot at a Super Bowl that you’re going to get.

I am happy he didnt sign anything. We dont need him. Duece WILL be back...maybe not as an everydown back but he will have a role. It would be the same role that Shaun would have filled.
Call it wishful thinking or call it being a homer but I think we already have the pieces to a running game now.
