Who Dat News: Saints Line Up Visits as Draft Approaches

News: Consensus early-round projections Sedrick Ellis, Leodis McKelvin, Brandon Flowers, Vernon Gholston, Quentin Groves, and Matt Forte have either met with the Saints or are scheduled to meet with the team in the upcoming weeks, according to the Times Picayune.

Who Dat Say: Ellis and McKelvin are obvious potential first-round targets. Flowers and Forte are two players the Saints could pull the trigger on in the 2nd and 3rd rounds, respectively. However, it's interesting to note that two of the six aforementioned prospects are defensive ends -- a position one would think the Saints are comfortable with. If the team chooses not to pay Will Smith the big-time money he is seeking, we would not be completely shocked if the Saints drafted his future replacement.

You really think the fact that we're meeting with these guys means anything? I don't

Teams always bring in players whether they are interested in them or not. We may be sending up smoke screens by bringing in these guys. 2 years ago, Denver traded up and drafted Jay Cutler without even bringing him in for an interview or sending scouts to see his workouts.

I would think the Saints are somewhat interested in all of these guys. Now whether they fall to us in the draft may be another story.
