Who Dat News: Sedrick Ellis on Display for Orgeron

News: The OCRegister reports that Ed Orgeron, the Saints defensive line and former USC D-line coach, attended USC’s practice on Tuesday. Orgeron is in town for the USC Pro Day being held today.

Who Dat Say: Is it just a coincidence that the man who helped recruit Sedrick Ellis to USC’s defensive line is now visiting his Pro Day, this time as a defensive line coach for the Saints? We would all love to see Glenn Dorsey in a Saints uniform, but he is beginning to look unobtainable. Let’s hope for the next best thing: that the Saints reestablish the Orgeron-Ellis connection on draft day.

Hi. Long time reader, first time caller. Just wanted to say that I'm enjoying the blog, and keep up the good work.

As for Orgeron, I'm excited to have him as an addition to the team. While he wasn't ready to be a head coach, you can't question his intensity and desire, and we know he can coach the d-line. I think he's going to bring some real fire to this D, and I can't wait.

Fun blog, nice work. But I live in Los Angeles, saw Ellis play a lot, and am not an LSU homer, so here's my read on Dorsey v. Ellis.

Dorsey is great, no question, but Ellis is wicked fast AND (here's the key) doesn't have 40 pounds of hardware on his knees.

Dorsey, great as he was, always seemed to be in knee pain last year. You could see him grimace after every play. how many more years can those things hold out?

I say grab Ellis and consider ourselves lucky!

yeah -- but those knee pains were not historical. That happened only after he got blantantly chop-blocked in the Auburn game. Before that, his knees were fine.
