Who Dat News: Hawaii Cornerback Interests Saints

News: Ryan Keomaka, a 5-10, 180-pound cornerback, impressed scouts at UH's pro-day in Carson, California, according to Starbulletin.com. Keomaka ran a 4.35 forty-yard dash, benched pressed 225 pounds 20 times, and excelled in agility drills. Keomaka's agent, Archie Chaney, said the most serious interest in his client has come from the Oakland Raiders and New Orleans Saints. "There was the speed, the strength for his size, and he was very good at change of direction, coming out of his breaks," Chaney said. "He stayed low, and was able to move quickly. That's one of the things they look for." The Saints, seemingly wowed by the cornerback's workout, also asked Keomaka to take the Wonderlic intelligence quiz.

Who Dat Say: Keomaka started for Hawaii as a sophomore, but not as a junior or senior because he could not stay out of June Jones' dog house. There is obviously some talent here -- Keomaka actually ran down a Georgia return man for one of his team's few bright spots in last year's Sugar Bowl -- but we do not expect the Saints to go out of their way to draft him. Keomaka sounds more like a potential free-agent signee.
