News: According to Nola.com, the state of Louisiana is going to be $6 million short this year and $19.5 million next year of what is needed to pay contractual obligations to the Saints and the Hornets in order to keep the 2 franchises in New Orleans. If the state fails to make the payments required by contract, the Saints and Hornets can opt out of their leases with the Superdome and New Orleans Arena, respectively, and can leave the city.
Who Dat Say: Obviously, this is terrible news. If not for the Saints, all of the Saints-related websites that you read will no longer exist and all of you die-hard black and gold fans will have to find another passion on Sundays. We’re sure the state is doing whatever it has to do to come up with the money to keep both franchises in New Orleans.
