Who Dat Say News: Saints may be Shopping Jammal Brown

News: League sources report that the Saints are shopping starting left tackle Jammal Brown in a potential trade in order to move up in Saturday's draft to get LSU defensive tackle Glenn Dorsey, according to CBSsportline.com. Reportedly, the Saints would have to jump the Atlanta Falcons (who are also interested in the DT) at the #3 spot in order to get Dorsey. Thanks to reader Bob Hawkins for the tip.

Who Dat Say: It appears the Saints are willing to do just about anything to get their hands on what many consider the premier defensive player in this year's draft. We question the Saints rationale here, as shipping Brown to St. Louis would leave them with Jon Stinchcomb and Zack Strief as their starting tackles. And with Matt Lehr's future uncertain because of a federal investigation, the already thin offensive line could be downright putrid if Brown were sent packing. Despite the public perception that St. Louis will take Dorsey, we believe that they are targeting Virginia DE Chris Long. We hope the Saints exercise a little more patience and call Atlanta's bluff that they will not take signal-caller Matt Ryan. If neither the Rams or the Falcons take Dorsey, he will most likely fall to the Chiefs at #5. It would be far easier to move up to #5 overall than #2 overall; and the Saints would have to give up a lot less to do so.

this would be moronic of the Saints. I, for one, would be pissed if the Saints do this. Trade a young, franchise Pro-Bowl left tackle for a guy who hasn't played in the NFL yet?! Jammal Brown is worth more than the #1 overall pick of this draft.

It will never happen. Typical pre-draft BS and rumors.

The organization's number one priority is to build around Brees.
