Who Dat News: Colston and Evans Get Richer
News: For the second time in as many years, Marques Colston and Jahri Evans received a bonus from the NFL's Performance-Based Pay program, according to the Times Picayune. Colston received $257,894 and Evans got $266,677. The money, intended to supplement the income of the league's lower-paid players, nearly double each starter's salary, which is $360,000 apiece.
Who Dat Say: Both Colston and Evans are in the final year of their rookie contracts and will become restricted free agents after the 2008 season. While this bonus money was nice, both will be able to make it rain a whole lot easier if they are signed to long-term deals. Mickey Loomis has already begun initial talks and should make it one of his top priorities to sign both of these guys to long-term extensions, as each has played a vital role in the success that the offense has experienced over the past two seasons.

I'm thinking Colston will receive about 5 million per year and Evans will receive about 3 million per year
reddodge, those players will probably get about that much -- if they played in the 1980's! A top shelf NFL guard, which Evans is, gets about 8-10 mil per year. And a good #1 wideout (Larry Fitzgerald) gets about 9 mil per year. Colston might not be quite as good as Fitzgerald, but he's in the ballpark.
